This project involved both remediation and prep of the site, for PBC / CPS, where we excavated and removed approximately 20k tons of contaminated soil, across a 3-acre site, in order to prepare the site for a New, Chicago Public School.  As a part of the same project, six underground storage tanks were de-commissioned, and removed from the site.  We also removed  the existing storm sewer system and made various modifications to the existing catch basins and self-performed all of the rough and fine grading, earth moving  and earth shaping.  Added to the earth work, was provision of new fencing and installation of landscape, throughout much of the project site.  Due to the detailed organization and professional management of McDonagh and our skilled team, this project ran on schedule and within budget.  All of the demolition, excavation, earth work and supervision of these functions, was self-performed by the McDonagh Team.

We were able to provide all necessary work on this project, through the course of winter, without hindrance, with the use of specialized mechanical ground thaw / warming equipment, therefore keeping the project in time and on budget.  Also of note: McDonagh made use of our TopCon, 3D Survey Equipment, to track all quantities and elevations for our Client.  As excavations and backfill took place below the water table, constant de-watering was also performed by McDonagh.  Streets were kept clean, with street sweeping performed, on a daily basis, by McDonagh
